Easy Panoramics | Behind The Image

So what do you do when you want a shot of the entire scene but you don’t have the lens to do it? This happens to me quite often if I’m traveling and only pack one lens for a leisure day walk. It’s easy!! Photoshop has an awesome action called Photomerge. Let me show you how to do it. First you want to make sure your camera is set on manual so all images you take are metered/lit the same way. For the above shot I took seven vertical shots to capture the full scene of the Ocean Hotel. I then loaded the images and opened them in Photoshop Bridge and selected all seven images.

With the images selected, go to the Tools menu the select Photoshop and Photomerge…

This menu will pop up. I always select the Layout of Auto and check the box at the bottom, which reads Blend images Together. I then select the Ok button.

So now Photoshop does it’s magic. You will get a layered file as shown below. All you need to do now is flatten the image and crop.
