Halise + Abdullah’s day was one of the most photo journalistically-candid days we’ve had the pleasure to capture. The day started with Halise saying goodbye to her family and the groom’s family coming to unite the bride and groom. Although not an easy feat – as it is tradition to guard the door until the groom is allowed entry with monetary gifts. This happened at the front door and the room where Halise was in the house…and even blocking their getaway car! The family had quite a lot of fun with this – so much laughter. Before giving Halise away her brother wrapped a red ribbon around her and placed a red veil over her head to start her married life. She was now off to her husband’s house and welcomed with the tradition of breaking a glass before entering and having a morning tea. The actual ceremony was later that evening at the reception so we spent the afternoon around Brisbane capturing these two in love! The connection they shared in sweet glances and big smiles was infectious! Such a happy day and a full community of love outpoured for these two. Congratulations to you both!
