Justine + Steven | Toledo Botanical Gardens

Justine + Steven are married!! I loved all the details Justine put into her wedding… she collected broaches from friends/family to make her bouquet ‘just right’ with her wedding colors of blue and lime! Gorgeous!! They were also blessed with a perfect day of sun, blue skies, and puffy white clouds! The ceremony was beautiful. Justine’s dad walked her down the isle in his dress uniform. They incorporated two unique ceremonies into the program. They had a hand ceremony where they face their palms up over each others palms while the minister read the vows they were making to one another. Also, before the ceremony each of the guests were given a bag of clear blue and lime rocks. During the events they were asked to take a moment to make well wishes for the couple on them and then place them in a keepsake box just before the couple also poured in their mason jars full of colored stones as well. The guest nearest me wished for “4 future kids” for the couple!! hahhaa. Justine — just so you know… most of my brides become pregnant within a year of marriage. If I had to guess… I would say it’s about 80% of my brides!! 🙂

The reception was at Heather Downs Country Club. The couple was surrounded by so much love!! The speeches showed how dear this couple was to their friends/family. I was honored to be apart of their day!

(Rotate screen) This year I was a bit ambitious. In-between school drop off and pickup one day - I designed a “look book” for the sunflower festival. There is a spread that shows how the lighting in the field changes by the half hour and sun vs overcast days. I’ll have a copy at the photo sign in table and my pod for those that would like to turn it’s pages… and maybe even see yourself as I know I have a lot of repeat clients each festival 🌻
Every wedding has that photo… this was theirs.

The one that somehow holds everything—the energy, the calm, the just-married feeling you can’t quite put into words.

But the truth is, it’s never just one moment.
It’s a whole in-between chapter.

The quiet moments, the laughter, the “what do we do with our hands?”
The way it all unfolds naturally when you’re just being together.

Part 1: finding the light, settling the nerves, easing into it.
Part 2: where the magic sneaks in ✨

This is what your portrait gallery can feel like.
