For Memorial weekend I headed down to Gulf Shores, AL for Audie & Melanie’s wedding on Saturday. Since it was a long weekend I decided to stay and enjoy Pensacola, FL for two days on my own. Those who know me know I NEVER travel alone. Not that I wouldn’t like to but that anytime I declare a trip a van wagon of family and friends come along for the ride. So to the contrary this weekend I flew solo. At first I thought I wouldn’t enjoy myself much because I couldn’t share memories… but with camera in hand I managed to entertain myself. It was nice to remember what it feels like to just breath and take in life. I couldn’t ask for better weather and peaceful scenes. Opal tones seemed to follow me… my favorites.
I brought a starfish for the wedding but decided to use it as a prop of my own around the beaches. One day there was little green seaweed in the knee deep water. Beach goers weren’t too happy. I made the best out of it though. Who else has cool starfish pictures like these with the pop of vibrant green? One guy stopped me and was all excited I was carrying around a starfish. He thought I found it on the beach. What crazy person brings starfish and seashells to the beach?
What’s a vacation without the food pictures? I don’t spend money on key chains for friends. I spend it on good food. I just so happen to LOVE seafood. You can bet I ate crab legs for breakfast, lunch, and dinner… because I did. By dinner I had to stop dipping the butter.
The Parrot’s cage read, “I’m crabby, I bite.”
This was a solo vacation but a needed one.
