Over the years, we’ve seen some pretty amazing new wedding traditions pop up — and we think it’s time to share a few of our favourite alternatives to the traditional wedding cake! 🍰

🧀 Cheese Tower Cake — For the couples who would choose cheese over cake any day! Stack your favourite cheeses into a gorgeous tiered “cake” and serve it up later with crackers, fruit and all the good stuff.

🍫 @smashacakebrisbane — Think giant white chocolate piñata filled with lollies! Grab the hammer, smash it open and let everyone dig in. Definitely makes for some fun photos too!

🍓 @baysidebrownie — Is there anything more decadent than a gooey brownie topped with fresh berries and cream? A giant brownie makes a seriously delicious cake alternative.

🍩 @krispykremeaustralia — Specialty wedding doughnuts! Stack them, display them or create a whole doughnut tower. Easy for guests to grab and, most importantly… no cake cutting required.

Traditional wedding cake will always have its place, but we’re LOVING seeing couples choose something that feels a little more them.

Your wedding morning should feel like part of the celebration — not a race to get out the door.

A few simple things can make such a difference: hair and makeup running on time, a clean and clutter-free prep space, and all your special details laid out and ready to photograph.

When those things are taken care of, there’s room to breathe. Room to pour the champagne, hug your mum, laugh with your bridesmaids and actually take in the excitement of the morning.

It also gives us the time and space to photograph your dress, rings, flowers, stationery and all those little details thoughtfully — then quickly come back to capturing your moments.

And those genuine, in-between moments that happen when no one is watching the clock? They’re often some of my favourite photographs of the entire day.
