Currumbin Rock photographs brilliantly for sunrises and sunsets because of it’s unique geographic location. However, we are a bit partial because of this session to Currumbin Rock at sunrise. Parking can be a bit tricky (arrive early) for sunset shoots but a non issue for a sunrise session. The entry to Currumbin Rock is just past the lifesaver tower along the beach straight to the rocky tip. You’ll get a variety of background choices at this location. The dark/golden jagged rocks, smooth boulder-like black jetty rocks, mirrored reflections along the beach as you walk, grassy sandbars, and in the distance rolling mountains of the Gold Coast Hinterlands. Sunrise Couple Session – Charmy + Ron
Charmy first reached out to me about 6 months ago with the idea to do a sunrise session on the beach. I immediately said yes, without doing the math that at this time of year sunrise meant meeting at 4:30am!!! Oh but it was worth it! We met at first light and watched the sunrise together as the sky turned a brilliant cotton candy pink. We only had about 5 minutes of amazingness before it disappeared behind the clouds. We then giggled as a half dozen landscape photographers showed up with their tripods – they missed it! Charmy + Ron are married – so this isn’t an engagement session…. but you wouldn’t know it from their vibes! Fun, playful, and sooooo happily married!
