Craig + Kari | Sidecut Metropark

Last March I decided to make a donation to my local Make A Wish Foundation for their annual sports banquet. After lots of thought and a call to the director of the event I decided upon a family portrait session and print package. This was the first time I had donated a gift certificate to a silent auction and had concerns how well bidding would go without showcasing my work. Spring came and went and I was getting curious if anyone had even made a bid, as I had not received any calls. I did receive a thank you note from the Make A Wish Foundation so I was hopeful when summer came I would find out.

Meet Kari & Craig!  Their generous donation linked us last weekend for their family portrait session.

The location was of sentimental value to them… this is Sidecut Metro Park.

Here is the spot!!! Just over seven years ago Kari & Craig were married right here under the Willow tree!

Sadie is by all means the center of attention! Six years ago she came into their home. She seems like a puppy still with all the energy she put forth during our session! Sadie looks extra sweet here.

So this collection is funny to me. The top picture everyone looks so very serious and then we have the giggles…

One of my favorite shots from our session…tender kisses!

I really like this one too.

What did you say Craig?

Sadies select portraits…Her coat is so shiny and soft!

That’s one big kiss I missed! Craig has his leg up too! Haha ha ha.

I love morning light…

Last shot of the day and you guys still are amazing! Thank you for your contribution to the Make A Wish Foundation & hiking around the park in the heat with me! Thank goodness we started early! All session photos may be viewed here.

(Rotate screen) This year I was a bit ambitious. In-between school drop off and pickup one day - I designed a “look book” for the sunflower festival. There is a spread that shows how the lighting in the field changes by the half hour and sun vs overcast days. I’ll have a copy at the photo sign in table and my pod for those that would like to turn it’s pages… and maybe even see yourself as I know I have a lot of repeat clients each festival 🌻
