Hawaii Part 2 | Personal

This morning we are off to Turtle Bay to snorkel! Before we go I thought I’d do another quick post of our first few days on the island. Here is another beach on base. This one is in a gulf so there aren’t any waves. We stayed here for a few hours on our second day.

This beach also had large white rocks just along the shoreline.  Michael & Josh went spear fishing just to the right…

This was the perfect way to spend day #2 just after the long flight. I love the lower left photo of Michael, Nick, and Josh. They are sporting their Marine tattoos!

The Galbreath family shared their favorite Korean restaurant with us and the VARIETY of dishes! YUM YUM YUM YUM YUM!! (Please disregard my chop sticks left up in the rice… Michael told me later this is disrespect to their dead because they use rice in ceremonies).

Date night! Yes, Josh and I planned a whole evening by ourselves for our vacation. We met a local photographer for portraits here at the gardens below. I will post more about this later. This was also a view from Haleiwa Joe’s seafood restaurant where we ate afterwards. Josh took these quick portraits of me before dinner. Nicole, Carol, and my Mom all had a hand in coloring low lights and putting together my hairstyle this evening. I loved it!! This look survived a heavy rain in the rainforest 20 minutes prior!

What is a nice dinner without a dessert in the likeness of a volcano? This was a chocolate cake with rasberry sauce on top and hot cream cheese center. As you can see we cleaned the plate!

Even though we have a full kitchen we’ve been enjoying eating breakfast out! Carol and I have been obsessing about Hawaiian breakfasts about 2 months now… We went to Cinnamon’s this morning, a local favorite. I heard they were featured on the food network. I tried a Cinnamon roll and a Red Velvet pancake… delish! The eggs benedict on crab cakes is to die for, really!!! I hope we go back because Michael ordered this and I only had a taste…

We are off now to snorkle with sea turtles! More to come…
