Jacoby + Megan | Wedding

May 1st Jacoby & Megan were married at the Hilton in Levis Commons. A slight delay in my posting because of a trip to Vegas and NO INTERNET for a week… I actually delayed my trip to Vegas for a day just to shoot their wedding. I have been wanting to capture the Levis Commons grounds at night for quite sometime now. You’ll see why as you continue to scroll down.

I absolutely loved Megan’s choice for flowers. She had 10 bridesmaids so I creatively emptied the hotel’s shelves for a cool shot of everyone’s bouquets. They smelled so good!

The finishing touches…

Megan’s dad had a classic…

Jacoby is taking Megan on their honeymoon in November. I think it’s a great idea to delay honeymoons for those that choose to go someplace warm in the cold months. I also think the couples will enjoy their trip more. Weddings can be very stressful and exhausting. Even a few extra days before going to your special destination is helpful. Right after I was married we drove overnight to the airport, flew the entire next day, and were both too tired to even eat. We slept for two days.

Tara Black of Black Tie Occasions did an amazing job as the wedding planner and Maid of Honor. The luminaries really brought out the theme of black and hot pink.

I’ve been trying out some new lighting techniques. I don’t think I’ll always shoot directly into the strobe but in this case I think the shot turned out pretty amazing.

If you look at the third shot you’ll see Megan reaching for more cake… and finally… the shots you’ve been waiting for… Megan & Jacoby passionately in the moment!
