I do have to admit something verrrry embarrassing though. I have 4wd with my Chevy but was told I ‘drove like a woman’ and had to get TOWED (3x’s standard rates) less than 100 yards from the pavement after driving on the beach like a PRO for 2 hours, ugh. Other than that…. my time at the Outer Banks was perfect! Special thanks to Carol for assisting and the Goins-Whitmore’s for hosting us in their beach house!
Julie’s mom made the wedding cake! Yup…. I had to stare at and SMELL this yummy cake a whole day before I could eat it… most likely why I took so many photos of it. The icing was SUPERB! Not too sweet, just perfect…. light and fluffy like whipped cream but still sugary icing. (I know the secret!! 🙂 For being planned as an intimate affair with just immediate family they went ALL OUT in fun details for me to shoot! Who loves a beach themed wedding ON THE BEACH!? MEEEEE! MEEEE! Julie + Joel even wrote their vows to each other on the day of… (not kidding) They said they do their best work ‘last minute.’ hahahahhaa. Sounds familiar. Too familiar. heehehehee. Reverend Shirley Anne preformed a beautiful ceremony! (you can tell it’s a passion of hers!)
Aside from beach photos, we did something verrry special for the couple! Julie was a helicopter nurse when she first met Joel, who drove a EMS. He would offer to drop her off after her shift at the hockey Arena. So guess what!!! We found a helipad and fire truck!!! (Joel is now fire chief for Northwood county and Julie manager of Life Flight) How fitting…. how romantic… <3
Okay…. I’ll stop rambling. Enjoy the photos!!! To view all of their wedding photos visit Joel + Julie’s GALLERY by CLICKING HERE! To see their MINI-FEATURE (video) CLICK HERE!!!
