Matt + Shelley | Engagement

So we went to a Comedy Club for Matt + Shelley’s engagement session. hahahha. No we didn’t. This is actually in my studio. We set it up to “look” like a stage with all the funky lights too. Even though we were “pretending” Matt really sang for us! 🙂

He was hilarious!

We’ll sell tickets next time.

Aren’t they great together?

Full engagement sessions are soooo much fun. We head to multiple locations, change outfits, and just have fun. Matt + Shelley were up for ANYTHING. I mean it. You’ll see by the end of this post just exactly what I mean. This spot is in downtown Toledo.

Here are some more favorites!

Gorgeous!

Sorry Matt…. but you cracked me up…. had to post!

I shot soooo many photos during our session. These two are so ‘in the moment’… click click click trying to catch up with all of their expressions.  🙂

I had sooo much fun hanging out for the afternoon with these two. We decided to hike up the High Level Bridge at sunset. This was soooo up their alley because Shelley is from Pittsburgh and they actually spent an entire afternoon together in Pittsburgh trying to walk over every bridge. I believe they said they covered 25 miles in one day. So one bridge today was no biggie for them! My assistant Brittney and I on the other hand were feeling it! This is why I don’t feel guilty about not going to the gym… quick bridge hikes!

Here is my HD photo of the week. It would have turned out much better if I had carried my tripod on the bridge but I thought this was too beautiful not to share.

More loveliness!

I was surprised at all the colorful outfit changes. They both just threw a variety in a bag. I think they should start packing for me when I’m in a hurry. Matter of fact… last week I even packed and left my bag. eeeeeek…..

So you are probably wondering “where is that!?” I found this train on google maps. Gotta love it! We planned for some dusk shots at this deserted train.

Photographers: this was shot with 3 strobes. Special thanks to my assistant Brittney and hubby Josh. (and tripod)

Love these!

Another view of the bridge….

Every wedding has that photo… this was theirs.

The one that somehow holds everything—the energy, the calm, the just-married feeling you can’t quite put into words.

But the truth is, it’s never just one moment.
It’s a whole in-between chapter.

The quiet moments, the laughter, the “what do we do with our hands?”
The way it all unfolds naturally when you’re just being together.

Part 1: finding the light, settling the nerves, easing into it.
Part 2: where the magic sneaks in ✨

This is what your portrait gallery can feel like.
