Mike + Katie | St. Patrick’s Wedding

Katie told me she loves black and white images so I will post the majority in black and white. I took soooo many photos of her shoes. I LOVE THEM!!! The detailing on her dress was gorgeous too.

This was Katie all day…. all smiles!

This is when it ‘feels’ like you are getting married. The moment the dress is tied!

In memory of Mike’s mom. I was told this photo was taken 10 years ago just before Mike went to boot camp.

When their eyes met…

Cuteness.

St. Patrick’s in Toledo is soooo beautiful.

It’s official… the new Mr. & Mrs!

Love it!

Katie + Mike decided to do all formal portraits outside… so they had a moment to relaxxxxx… I do have off camera lighting equipment (tripods, strobes, umbrellas) for formal indoor photos but when brides opt to do formal portraits outside it’s just sooo much more relaxed and SUPER FAST!!

We went to the Oliver House for portraits after the ceremony. As a photographer we look for light. The Oliver House is beautiful but the light just wasn’t right for the majority of our photos. So we found this adjacent building that was the perfect backdrop! You’ll see when I get to the color photos.

Next we headed to Mike’s special request… the high level bridge.

Katie was a fashion major in college. Can you tell? Look at the ladies shoes!! 🙂

Their reception took place at the Polish Hall downtown Toledo. Everything was B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L and the cake was super yummy!!

Katie’s Dad gave a touching speech.

I love this shot. Mike’s dad was giving the toast here… love the shadow of him on the wall.

(Rotate screen) This year I was a bit ambitious. In-between school drop off and pickup one day - I designed a “look book” for the sunflower festival. There is a spread that shows how the lighting in the field changes by the half hour and sun vs overcast days. I’ll have a copy at the photo sign in table and my pod for those that would like to turn it’s pages… and maybe even see yourself as I know I have a lot of repeat clients each festival 🌻
Every wedding has that photo… this was theirs.

The one that somehow holds everything—the energy, the calm, the just-married feeling you can’t quite put into words.

But the truth is, it’s never just one moment.
It’s a whole in-between chapter.

The quiet moments, the laughter, the “what do we do with our hands?”
The way it all unfolds naturally when you’re just being together.

Part 1: finding the light, settling the nerves, easing into it.
Part 2: where the magic sneaks in ✨

This is what your portrait gallery can feel like.
