I found myself in Silver Lake, MI for Ryan + Alisha’s engagement session. It was a fun day that started out on The Dunes. Ryan took us on a jeep ride up and down the dunes then we spent the afternoon with the family on Lake Michigan. It was a perfect day. I met Alisha’s family a few months back when I did her sister Mikaela’s senior portraits. I have been to the dunes only once before. I took the ‘tourist’ ride on the over sized Jeep with 20 some odd other vacationers. Ryan’s ride was quite different. The ‘hills’ I thought I went on prior weren’t actually the ‘dune’ size the area was known for… I must admit I was scared at first. I had just had a medical boot put on so I didn’t quite know how the ride would end. I held my foot up and closed my eyes up the first dune. I was still alive. 🙂 We went up and down a few more and by the end of the day and the ride back I was really enjoying myself. Right near sunset we left to visit The Foxbarn for our session. Here are the first few where we found this parked out front!!!

Ryan + Alisha have been together since high school and are planning to get married next year on their 12th anniversary together.
Alisha’s laugh is infectious. I think we were laughing most of the session. 🙂
